it's simply a strip of velcro w/ a leather top. i make them for all his guitars.just take a 7"x1" piece of male & female velcro........stick it on.....cap it w/ a matching strip of leather on the adheisive top.......& yer done. the pick just gets shoved in between the boy & girl point first. he's used these for decades.
Hi Tommy,
I would be also interested in a couple "Tommy Hand made Pickholders including Leather strip on top". Probably I'm 15 years too late, but if there is a chance to get 3pcs for my EBMM Steve Morse guitars, that would be awesome. Best regards, Michael

Cool, not sure where I read he retired
Maybe you have newer infos than I do🤷🏼‍♂️. In summer '24 he told me, he had thought he would retire but DPs management asked him to work for them again. In October he toured still with them through Germany

I hope I haven't stepped on anyone's toes with this post. Just recently thought hey, this would be a really helpful tool for a lot of guitar players (the pickholder on top of the guitar) and as a big Steve Morse Fan I googled it, if somebody got some more informations.

I'm just curious how Tommy had made these exactly maybe with a close up picture or even being able to buy some from him.
There are a lot of pictures of Steve's #1 guitar but that's not the usual angle where the camera points too haha ^^

Thank you anyways guys, hope you're doing well. And if somebody did a DIY, it would be great if you can share some pictures.

I used a pice of adhesive velcro on the guitar and a piece of non-adhesive velcro on top. So, no leather, but the same function

Those pictures remind me of why I have never had a tech mess with my Morse: I don't want them to mess up the pickup height. They are designed to be further from the strings. I mean I could always put it back to the "Morse" height but then I have to search to find out exactly what height is correct.
