Guys I'd like to ask some of you with experience in the recording business(whether this is home recording, or mega-console commercial).

I currently have the ability to record stuff at 16-bit quality audio. I plan on spending my budget on some really good outboard.Do you think it would be better to upgrade to 24-bit?

Really it's that simple. I find when it comes to recording. Anything that can make it even slightly better.. you should take full advantage of. A small difference can make a huge difference in the end.
