OK - now I know that I am impossible to cure the GAS attacks.

I have a Dersert Gold Bongo 5 HH, and a few years ago got the Electric Blue Bongo 5 HS not just for the HS sound but also as the paint matched my new (at time) F150.

So, I am wandering about Bass Central and saw green sparkle Bongos. I had no idea about these. Bought a 5HH (now have two HH 5 strings). Awaiting delivery - should get to me before we play January 3rd.

Like - why?

The emerald sparkle looks even better in person. Like a lot of the EBMM finishes, photos just don't do it justice.

So, if I may ask siince I have not been to the forum for a long time, what is with the sparkle thing? What started me with the purchase was that I was in Knoxville visiting Mom for Christmas and stopped by the local Guitar Center (GC). They have much-much-mega-more basses than the Harrisburg PA GC. I saw several EBMM basses in gold. Thinking that new Bongo colors had FINALLY been made available I checked the EBMM website - same stuff. Then I went to Bass Central and was stunned at what I found.

Man - one industry not to enter is the shipping business! UPS and FedEX seem to have it down pertty well. I ordered the bass and it was sent ground - it is already here! I pick it up in half an hour. They even phoned me to say it was ready. Amazing!

Well - picked it up Tuesday and then had to go to a New Years party with wife and child before I could even open it. Imagine sitting about at a boring party for hours with a new axe still sealed in the box at home. Anyway - I later lined up all three Bongos and compared. I was surprised and glad to see the "Elephant Ears" are gone. But more surprised how different the Sparkle green (SG) one sound from my also HH Desert Gold (DG). The SG is thinner and more zingy sounding. So, next step is to get new strings on that and the Electric Blue (EB) HS. I expected the EB to sound different as it is an HS - but not for the two HH basses to sound different.

The color does look even better in person rather than photo!

They always sound zingy to me too when they're new. It's the fresh EB Slinkys that I'm not used to. I would love to find a 5H in the sparkle green.

Just got it back. So, I got the blue Bongo a few years ago as it matched the truck. Now I also have this green sparkle. Not sure what to match that to. I know the wife won't let me paint her car green sparkle. Then - I thought of this thing I have buried back in the amp collection. Pulled it out and zingo!
