Sting Ray with with 1.5" Nut Width?

I recently purchased a used Sterling and I have to admit, it's a great bass. Over the last couple of years I have moved to the narrower neck basses (Jazz, "A" neck P-Bass, Sterling, etc.).

I thought I read somewhere that at some point in time the narrow neck option was available on the Sting Ray. Can anyone give me a time frame of when these were available? Also, are these narrower necks similar to the necks on the Sterlings? I think I'm going to be in the market for another new bass soon (please don't tell my wife) and I'm seriously considering one of these if I can find one. Knowing the years they were in production will help my search immensely.

Or certainly if anyone has one of these for sale, I'd love to talk....

I had one of these

I sold a stingray with a very slim neck some time ago I purchased from the states, When it arrived I was amazed as I didnt think they exsisted very similar to the neck on a sterling..Heres a link to some pics of the bass

A fretted Maple narrow neck was offered on the Pre-EB Basses.

I'd never heard of a similar option for EB Basses.
