Question Stingray 4 HH Room for Slapping?

Thanks

All this great feedback confirmed my thoughts on me needing to refine my technique, great, just what I needed.

Oh well, I guess I will be doing a bit more practicing. I am definitely going to get the SR 4 HH now I just need to pick the colors.

Thanks for everyones opinions.

Brian :)

Mark, I don't believe Le Freak is slapped - in fact I'm not aware that Bernard Edwards ever slapped. I may be wrong, but I understood he played with only 1 finger right hand and all of those great bass lines were basically fingerstyle, index finger only!

A lot of songs that you assume are slapped turn out not to be if you listen closely. The old standby get-em-up-and-dancing-every-time "Play That Funky Music" is a prime example of this.

Just pluck near the bridge and be aggressive and you get a great, punchy vibe.

My bad, I did some You Tubing and you are absolutely correct. Not slapping at all, just sounds like it :o

I think that BP and the crew at EBMM would have taken the need to slap on a bass into consideration when building / designing these basses. I don't think they would make a bass that limits the needs of the players. If they were going to do something like that wouldn't it be called the Don'tSlapOnThisStingray 4HH!!!

As mentioned before; it comes down to cleaning up our technique.

Get the StringRay 4HH -- it is a bad ass bass!!!
