a couple weeks ago i found out somebody lost my 83 stingray- so i ordered a replacement. i got a new 2eq stingray 4 with a maple neck- and i have a couple questions regarding the feel of the instrument.
first- i go to adjust the truss rod to get more bow in the neck- and the adjustment screw is not up by the head like im used to. im looking at the thing and there's a little wheel thingy where the neck meets the body. um- do i turn that? how do i adjust the truss rod on new stingrays? im confused.
also- the old stingrays had a clear sort of laquer coating on the neck- i rather liked the feel of that more- is there any way to order a custom neck or have a luthier redo the neck to give it that glossy coating?
can the frets be filed down easily or safely? can they be replaced with lower, flatter frets? i like the feel of old, worn down frets- its easier to play on- and quite frankly- i dont want to wait 22 years before my bass feels just how i like it.
thank you very much for any help.
