Stingray 4 serial not traceable

Hello there,

I want to buy a Stingray 4 natural with maple fredboard.

The serial number is 45639 and the seller tells me the bass is from 1998 or 1999.

But when ik look at: http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/TOWN8019/mycustompage0012.htm My serialnumber is not there. When i look where is should be, the bass must be from 1996 or 1995.

Who is right in this case, can or should I trust this seller?

Please can someone advise or give me some hints to find out what is the right manufactor date of this Stingray 4.

BTW, how is the serialput together, is there some kind of a formule for it, can anyone explain how to "dismantle" the serials?

I think the numbers are just numbers but I suspect that Jongitarz just might have access to the master list.....

If it's in chronological order, then it should be Dec 2002. The SR4 and SR5 serials can be used in conjunction with each other.

I boughed the Stingray.

I removed the neck from the body an there is was:

serial: 45639 is build on: 7 / 31/ 1995.

Greetz and all the best for 2005.
