This question is for the EMBB guys or anyone else who might know.

Are these compensated nuts available for sale from Ernie Ball and can they be fitted to an SR5 that has a normal nut?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

I don't know...but the compensated nut looks at least twice as wide as the old-style nut. And I'm not sure which direction you would have to go in...or both.

Once again thank you, let's hope someone here what actually makes these basses would be able to give us their view on this, I am interested to know if it is possible and how to go about fitting it/cutting bits off the neck (maple not r/wood in my case)

Cheers

I'm pretty sure this is a case of "if you have to ask, you should probably pay someone else do it." EB/MM isn't likely to give you pointers on neck wood removal over the internet.

The compensated nut is not only bigger in size, it's positioned in a different spot than the normal nut. It would be possible (anything is possible) to retrofit a bass with one of these nuts, but we don't recommend it and we don't provide the service or support for this type of thing. Also, it is of note that we don't sell compensated nuts for the most part. If your bass came with a compensated nut and you need one (and can provide a valid serial number) we can help you out, but that's about it. I hope this clears everything up!

Cool, that's all I needed to know, and thanks for the clarification.

I know this is a necro thread but I was searching stingray compensated nut on google and ran into this thread and decided to modify that avatar a bit.

Not a 3+1 but I play 5ers so yeah.
