I just got home from GC, and tryed out my first Roasted. This bass is BEAUTIFUL! I mean the figuring on this neck is just STUNNING! I would have left with her except for one thing.

I am a fan of the unfinished satin necks, and this one was laquered. I mean the action was probably the best I have ever felt, and the sound was the best.

GC owes me BIG time for a mix-up on their end, and was going to work an amazing deal on this bass if I wanted it. Unfortunately, I will have to look for something else.

Anyone close to the Totowa NJ store, should go and see this bass while it's still available.

That's been up there for days. If anyone is interested, I would call. Oh did I mention that it was about 9 pounds! One of the lightest SR5's I've ever played.

It is a beauty for sure and the weight, yes. The laquer was the deal breaker for you? You could sand it off.

I quite like the finish, at least on the one Classic I've tried as well as my pre-tung oil finished SR5. I like the non-finish too. It sounds like the perfect bass; too bad it didn't work for you. 9 lb SR5s are hard to come by, especially in the HH variety.

No doubt! I guess it has been awhile since I played a MM with a sanded neck, so the laquer would be a plus for me.

I would of thought so, its the lacquer that gives the finish its depth, same with the classics, removing the lacquer would kill the effect of the wood. (birds eye, flame etc wouldn't 'pop' like it does its only the lacquer that makes it look so 3D ).
