The bridge is great. It's perfect. No replacing needed. You'll find all MM guitars are top-notch, unless some idiot (-cough- my little brother -cough-) abused them. ;)

Trust Morrow......... "Stingrays are fine right out of the box. There is no need to do any mods .It is not a common thing to do with a Stingray."

The heavy Stingray bridge is one of the things that gives the trademark Stingray sound. It's a big lump of metal, and beats a Badass hands down.

Why all these questions regarding replacement parts. The stock EB hardware is topnotch: neck, body, bridge, pickup(s), electronics, tuners, straplocks, finish, case, strings, pickguard, pickguard screws, neck plate and screws, the little nobbie bit that holds down the strings on the headstock, the knobs and switches, and the control plate/battery cover, are all top quality -- read, a waste of time and money to replace. :) btw, best fretwork on a production bass you will find also (makes Fenders and G&Ls look like WalMart specials)! Now go buy one or two and enjoy.

No, and I should have said "strap buttons." Strap locks are easy to install and you won't have to fill any holes.

Hahaha, thanks for the recommendation. That much power would probably corrupt me, though.

If you get a Stingray and replace the bridge, I would like to be first in line to buy your original bridge.

Someday if you get a Stingray and have an overwhelming urge to start changing things, spend your time and energy experimenting with different strings and pickguards. Some people like to install a Hipshot D-Tuner on the E-string. You don't need to change the bridge, pickup or preamp.

I like the little things about Stingrays. Fast access to the battery and the tapered string posts come to mind. There are some other manufacturers instruments that routinely get modified ... but NOT Stingrays. They really are perfect right out of the box. Even the initial setup on mine was perfect. They are probably the finest American made production instrument - and .... their customer service department is incredible. But try some other basses too. Some of Leo's other takes on the instrument are also pretty good. Others have been inspired by his designs and come up with some nice instruments too.Let us know what you get.

I Shall Say This Only Once

You DO NOT need to modify an EBMM bass.

You may want to change something aesthetic like the PG, or add a HipShot, but that's all.

If you're buying an EBMM bass with a view to making the mods you've asked about, you may as well get another bass.

dude, have you looked at the bridge on the stingrays. WOW!!!! It's one of my favorite parts of my sr5. To tell the truth, i was looking at my bridge last sat night after our first set and thought, d*mn. I'm not sure what the two "posts" are on each side of the bridge next to the saddles, but let me tell you, it is w/out a doubt solid. I think it would be a great foundation to build my next house on. Be it a small house.
