I'm not sure what the two "posts" are on each side of the bridge next to the saddles, but let me tell you, it is w/out a doubt solid. I think it would be a great foundation to build my next house on. Be it a small house.

I felt compelled to reply as this is one of my favourite features on EBMM basses. Now, go grab a F***** Jazz or Precision. Now pluck the string really really hard. Pay close attention to the saddles on the bridge and you'll see that they move just a bit. The strings apply pressure to the saddles, and that's really what keeps them in place(I could be wrong on this), so if you put too much pressure on the strings they pull the saddles out. Now those giant globs of metal totally prevent the saddles from moving. Now I really enjoyed this feature as I've hurt quite a few jazz basses plucking the strings hard. Ironically I was plucking the strings so hard to get more punch... which the MM Humbucking P'up delivers with relative ease. In any case, appreciate this feature, it's innovative, I've never seen it anywhere else, and it helps keep the Stingray(and Sterling and Bongo) such that bad Motha it is.

NOTE TO SELF: the words "A$$" and "hole" CANNOT be used concurrently in this forum......got it! Thanks for the reminder Jon. Hehe.
