Question Stingray classic 5 weight

I'm looking at buying a classic 5 string Ray online. The guy from the store says it weights 13 pounds. That seems awfully heavy to me. Is that fairly standard for the classic 5's?

I don't think that 13 pounds are an average weight for a classic 5. My classic 5 weights 10.3 pounds...

That's about the same weight as my "regular" SR5s. Maybe even a little bit less. 13 pounds sounds pretty heavy, though.

I've clarified twice now, he swears it's the bass alone. He says it doesn't feel that heavy. I wonder if his scale is off.

Didn't have a scale at Guitar Center..but No WAY were these boat anchor like at all..the Ash version was SUPER light...9.5 to 10lbs to me seems right..and not in my 'heavy' category...I'm 6' 3" though..so ..you know it's relative.

Scale sounds off. 10-11 seems to be the average. Now that's not to say that this is an exception. I mean wood can vary.

My Classic Stingray 5 weighs in at 10.4 lbs on our digital scale.

I think that on average they're heavier than their "regular" counterparts, but 13 lbs would be on the higher end. Most that I have seen are in the mid 10's.
