Hello, this is my first post here and I apologize if its too long. I own both a classic stingray(2 band eq)and a stingray hh 3 band eq). I use both in a live setting (coverband), with a markbass 2x10 combo. I use the hh (only bridge pickup...treble50%/mid100%/bass100%)for standard tuning and the classic (bass 100% treble20%) for half step songs. For volume however, I can only run the hh with 50% volume to balance the classic at 100%! The hh is soooo much louder and just cuts through way better, with just one pickup!! My questions are...#1 Is it only because of the three band preamp on the hh that makes it louder, or is it the pickups that are better? #2 If it is the pickups, could I swap the neck pickup from the hh with the pickup in the classic, without negative effect on the hh?. I hardly use the neck pickup anyway, and my aim is to try to get these two basses to sound as close as possible. I know, I shouldnt have bought a classic if i wanted it to sound like an hh. But the difference is too muchI(im switching basses mid set), I've played classics that were louder and cut through the mix better than this one does. I tried lowering the strings on the classic and raising the pickup poles and still not really even close. Please let me know what I can do. Thank you so much..

It might be the mids? The Classic's don't have a huge pre-amp output like some of the new/modern EBMM basses, but it sure sounds beautiful!
