I bought my Stingray used and only had this gigbag with the bass.
I don't know if originally there was a hard case with it, anyway...I really would like to buy the standard MM hard case for the baby...do you think it's possible?
How can I know if this soft bag was the original one provided with the bass?

Any EBMM dealer should be able to get one for you. I know GC sells them as a separate item from the basses.

I checked the link that shortsnbass posted and although I've never done a side-by-side comparison, it blows me away that the StingRay and the Bongo could share the same case...an engineering marvel to say the least.

It's saxnbass. :)

They just mold it to fit certain spots just right (the curves at the bottom and one of the horns usually). The rest of it doesn't have to fit perfectly. As long as certain points fit right, the bass won't move. If you can design the case to hit different points on the different basses all in one, it'll work great. Example: Top curve and lower horn of Stingray and then the bottom curve and top horn of the Bongo. As long as it's designed to have enough space for each and fit snuggly at the right points, it'll work. Hope that makes sense.

WOW. That's awesome. StingRay and Bongo, 4s and 5s, Rights and Lefts, and other traditional solidbody basses.

Looks pretty rounded edges to me. Where are the points and sharp edges?

Nice Bass! Did the previous owner ever even play the damn thing? It looks REALLY clean!

I took great care of it the first day...cleaned the neck and body, the frets, boiled lineseed oil on the fingerboard (better than the lemon oil to me) and made a good set-up but it was really clean from the start...except one little ding on the back it was really new, and it's year 2000 I think.

Oh man that is beautiful! Love the back of that neck! :)

I think black sparkle has to be one of my favourite sparkles as it's so classy and almost understated.

Very, VERY nice!
