Don't know if this has been posted already, but I picked up the new issue of Guitar World's BASS GUITAR (the one that has Flea and Bootsy on the cover) and was happy to see them do a review on a Stingray HH 4 and a Sterling HS 4. No surprise to me that they were blown away by the axes but the treat was that they took the time to put up sound samples online of all the coil selections!!! I found this very cool so I wanted to post and give the link. This seems helpful for all the lurkers who are trying to decide between the two axes. Here's the link:

I really dig the sound of the Sterling HS with position 2 and 3 on! It's track 9. I may get that version next instead of just a humbucker only Sterling 5.
PS--- (The only complaint I have about the test is that they used a maple fingerboard Sterling and a rosewood fingerboard Stingray. I would have preferred for both to have rosewood fingerboards so that it was a true, pure comparison of the electronics. I find maple fingerboards brighter than rosewoods.)
