Excuse me if this has already been posted

What colors with matching headstocks are going to be offered for the stingray rosewood HH models?

When are stores going to start having more stock on these?

thanks for any help guys!

These are very new models. Music Man doesn't make the basses and guitars until they are ordered, so it's on the stores to order them to stock. I think that they all need to figure out that they are out and start placing orders

every stingray finish has the matching headstock option ... including all HH or HS models.

as far as stock goes. what folks said is correct: EBMM makes a bass only when its ordered. so they dont have a stack of black Stingrays sitting in a warehouse waiting for a buyer. the reason your local shop doesnt have one is b/c they havent ordered one.

you could look online.

Well, I can tell you this, just about every Guitar Center in NY State has dual pickup Stingrays and Bongos in Black Sapphire, Rosewood and Moonstone and nothing else. I like the combination mind you, but I already have a Bongo (bought at GC) like that and would like a dual pickup Ray in a burst. It sure would be nice to see something a little different. I know you can order but that 4 or 5 month wait is a little crazy for me. There is, however, a music shop locally that gets a variety, but they never know what their getting. They get something on the order of one musicman bass every month but it's not a custom order, it's whatever EB sends them. The good news, for me anyway, is that they have a Vintage sunburst with rosewood SR 4 coming in a couple of days that I just might jump on.

That's the way to do it. Play your other basses while you're waiting for that special MM made just for you!

buy one from GC, then have them order a replacement in the color you want.

they do that all the time, respect the instrument, don't break it or anything like that so it's not all abused for the next guy.

Mind you, I am just the repair guy, and do not work in sales, but I really don't think we send random instruments to music stores. What they get is what they order.

I can't vouch for the exact arrangement but the guy who runs the shop seemed to know what he was talking about. I think the way he said it was that he does know what he's getting but doesn't have a lot of control over what he gets. He said something to the effect that he gets one every so often but has to take what comes off the line. Possibly I misunderstood, but that's how I remember it.

No, Chuck....We have a sales force. They call stores and TELL them what they will take. It's much easier that way.:D

That's not how it works at VBTC. I get what I order from EBMM and even get these funny little text message spreadsheets in showing their progress. Some of our basses are special ordered to customer's specs and some are ordered by Jack and I putting our thinking caps on trying to come up with a combination that's unique or less commonly found in chain stores but EBMM has never sent me a "grab bag" bass like that dealer is alluding to.
