Stingray HH pickups

Hi, I've just bought a 2006 MM Stingray HH. The pickups look unusual: instead of the two separate lugs for the screws on the upper end, there is a solid bar. Is this unusual? I've never seen anything similar in any photo or YouTube.

Hold the fort; I can see replacement pick guards with that shape cut out, so it must be normal. Why the difference? does anyone know the provenance of these pickups?

Those are what people call the "ledge" style pickups, which EBMM used during the mid 2000s into the early 2010s. Just a different pickup cover shape, and I don't think there is any sonic or electronic change at all. Both my Stingray 5 basses have that style.
