My 2 Stingrays in their first attempt to show themselves off the stage...I couldn't resist...The dark teal colored one is an '87 with a bartolini installed prior to my purchase of this bass (but I like it too much to take it out), the Burnt Apple one is an '02 model that I ordered to my specs, I installed a hipshot extender key that my dad had new in the 80s but never used (I love it) and yes, it is strung through the body...both basses have schaller strap locks because I like to jump around :p let me know what ya guys think

A little rough around the edges but she's not afraid to tease you...she comes with freckles all up to her head

When did they do thru-body bridges? I didn't know it was that recently. They look really nice man.

I know around year 2000, EB built a run of them for the German market...and used ones from it seem to show up every onw and then. As well as a few limited edition models. But I don't know how chilix got it on his.

Im liking the scars on the Teal one. I might buy a teal stingray with maple neck soon. But im not sure how long I can like the color..

the bartolini sounds great in my opinion...if you are not looking for a stingray copy tone or anything close and want something different, then the bartolini is your match...i like it because it has stingray character and is really punchy in the low end...then my stock stingray accents the treble much better which the bartolini is lacking and vice versa...

the teal bass is not really a pure teal color...more of a sea blue/green...it is a very different color and much darker with more green than teal...i really enjoy that color as with the burnt apple

the Burnt Apple bass I ordered in 2001, waited 6 months, and recieved in May 2002...I added the hipshot d-tuner which I love and to answer the question about string through, well my buddy and I were discussing what strung through the body does to guitars and basses and such and we went ahead and did an experiment with that bass...first off, the bridge took 4 titanium drill bits to drill out the 4 holes (the bridge is forged steel), second we had to drill holes in the body...after 3 weeks of work and patience we finished the bass...now the comparison between strung through bridge and body on this particular stingray bass...strung through provided slightly more sustain and better note articulation by our own ear standards over the top loaded bridge...everything was carefully measured and measured 3 times before any drilling and I'm very happy with how it turned out, no regrets...that Burnt Apple bass has played over 150 live gigs since I bought it new in 2002...all including multiple church bands in my area and 3 different rock bands and a cover band...It has been the work horse and only bass i played live really for the last 5 years straight...killer bass
