Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone can help me out.
I have a '97 'ray, 3 eq, white stratch plate, honey burst with rosewood fretboard and bird'seye neck.
Not 1 person I have shown it to has seen one like it before, including guitar shops here.

Does anyone else have a matching bass, were they made in some sort of limited production?

I'm not too concerned, the bass kicks butt either way!!!

Dunno if that exact bass is rare or not but the birdseye maple neck is not common, and it looks so damn good! I wish my stingray had that. That bass must look rather nice. Lucky git.

Yeah, I can't believe my luck:D
I bought the bass used from this cruddy junk shop, lucky for me the dude who ran the place had no idea what it was, so he told me to make him an offer. $ 350 (us) later it was mine:eek:

It was lying in the shop amongst all this other stuff, but luckily there's not a scratch on it!!

What sort of gear do you play through?

I play through a Roland DB-700 250W digital combo. It's damn powerful for a 250W combo. It's good everything but mellow stuff. Can't get a jazz sound out of it even with a jazz bass! Starting to be a bit of a problem seeing as I'm starting to play a lot of jazz.I'm saving up for a nice big Ampeg at the mo .(I also have a nice Transparent Red, Rosewood neck, 3EQ Stingray.) What stuff do you use?

Hi Rod, apparently the finish on the body is honey burst, basically sunburst without the black around the out side.

Hi bassman, your gear sounds pretty cool. I use a warwick head, gallien - krueger 4x 10 cab on top of a celestion 1x 15 cab, as well as a crybaby bass wah wah & ibanez chorus. It gives a great
Justin Chancellor (tool)- type sound, as well as a great tonal range for blues and slap.

I don’t know about honeyburst being rare in any way – this is my second honeyburst Stingray5. The first was an unlined fretless, and I just wasn’t cut out for that.

In any case, we’d love to see YOUR honeyburst. That is one of the prettiest finishes EB has ever used.
