The bongo is ugly, and the Stingray is quite good lookin', but we all know, a Warwick, Tobias, or Spector beat all the basses in the world out of sight in the looks department!:p :D

Spector indeed makes a beautiful instrument. I love the contoured back - fits my belly well. I played them exclusively until I got my Ken Smith BT5G, then a StingRay fretless, then my Bongo 5. I didn't care for the looks of the Bongo at first, but after reading all the wonderful reviews on it (Thank you Jack), I had to have one. The sound def makes it the best bass I've ever owned.

Funny how a name sticks with you - maybe I should change it to "BongoBassGuy" or "BongoBoy".:p

I've got a Spector T-Shirt that says "Spector - Basses Built for a Lifetime".
I wish I could find a t-shirt that says "Spector - Basses built for the time until you can get a Bongo":p

Try one out, man. The Bongo will look a whole lot better to you after you've played one.;)

I may do sometime, but dude, have you ever played a LIMITED EDITION Warwick? They're even better put together than the normal warwicks.I am so lucky to have one, I aint really worthy of such a fine bass, but it'll last me my life time.

So now we have to bum MM to be on this forum? I can't express my opinion that my warwick is the greatest bass ever made, and that no MM, however good it may be, will ever be able to come near to being as good as it? Well that sucks.

Well, let me clear up what should be obvious but apparently isn't.

1. The good people at EBMM pay for this website. I don't expect anyone to treat them like Lords of the Manor, but some respect should be accorded since it IS their beach and we want to surf here.

2. The title of this particular forum is "Music Man Basses", so guess what? That's our focus. Some off-topic stuff/gear is expected and welcomed, but.....

3. Your posts so far have mostly been about your Warwicks. You've called Bongos ugly and said other things about EB basses, snorting about the wood and so forth. Do you want to talk about EB basses? Then please do.

4. I'm tired of being the hall monitor and playing Mr Diplomat and so on. So I'm telling you - follow the above rules and play nice or I'll send you to the headmaster's office.

Too late. I gather he was posting more crap as I was explaining the obvious stuff.

Ah, a cup of coffee and the Ban Button. Was I too harsh? I'm just sick of people trolling through and being ass-like.

You weren't harsh at all. Harsh would be going ban-crazy like the Mods at the Dude Pit. You gave the turd and fair chance and plenty of warnings.

After the lord rained down fire and brimstone, Nick was no more... it was quiet and it was good and those of us wanting to discuss MMs rejoiced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

(and I have a Streamer ProM that I love, but this isn't the place for it)

The mods at the Pit are very lenient. From memory, there have been only 4 or 5 people banned in the last 12 months, and there are close to 4000 members. My take on the Dudepit is that the only reasons someone gets banned are -

1. Trying to sell stuff without paying the required fee

2. Posting links to illegal items (Fender decals, Rick truss rod
covers etc)

3. Abusing fellow Pitters in a disrespectful way (taking the p!ss is ok)

4. Starting serious political or religious threads

5. Lying to or trying to con a fellow Pitter

In my opinion, those are very reasonable guidelines, and as I said, very few people get banned. The Dudepit is a great information resource and fun place to hang, so perhaps you might like to reveal why you got banned?

Thats the thing. I do not know why I got banned. Steve Barr says for "inflammatory comments." I do not recall making any like comments. I asked him what I said, and he wouldn't give me a response.
