damnit, my stingray doesnt sound too good through my swr 750x, ive played around with all the knobs both on the bass and head and get a ****ty sound! i am so not liking this bass haha, it sounded good on the 350x i played at the store, but through my 750x it sounds horrible, the action is too low maybe? i dont know. i might get a bass thats half the price off, like a schecter and get good middy tone, my friend brougt over a c-4 ... a 500 dollar bass and it sounds way better than the sting ray for some reason, come on! a korean bass sounding better than an american one? wtf.

Let's see if we can help you. What style of music do you play? Fingers or pick? Is your Ray a 2 band or 3 band? What was your previous bass? Do you prefer high or low action? What brand of strings did you normally use on your previous basses? Hit us with some more info and we might be able to give you some advice.

Are you playing this at home or in a band situation? It's my experience that some things that don't sound so great alone sound completely different in a live band context.

In any case, I don't seriously think there's anything wrong with a Stingray through that amp. I mean, it's been done before.

hey , i found a good tone, i put bass to the max, mid to the max, and treble to 3 o clock, am i allowed to do this lol...

ok well on the a strign the first fret buzzes like theres no tomorrow...

it really makes it sound bad, do i raise the action? i went to guitar center and said to them that they should raise it for me cuz i jsut bought it from them... am i supposed to though, i pick .. will raising the action from a low low action bass make a difference in my pick playing?

Do a search on this board regarding fret buzz, action, and setups. There is a ton of info. Glad to hear that you've found a tone you like. Rock on!
