Hi to all you EB fans Im new here but not new to bass or EBMM basses
I have picked up a Ray 5 that Im trying to get my head around what came in what order, It has had a neck swap as the lady who owned it first had LEDs fitted to the neck then I think the bass was too heavy for her (its 11lbs) so must of hunted down a used one that was as light as possible which then had its neck swapped over so I now have I think? a 2007 body with a 2004 neck. I have a 2010 Ray 5 that I bought new last year and this has the same battery box position and the newer style pickup cover. I thought until recently that these changes came in with the switch back to Alnico like my 2010 but this one I think is ceramic, I am now right in thinking the changes uncluding the pickup cover shape came in before the switch to Alnico?
It was strung E-C and setup badly, the neck was filthy but a few hours Sunday night have got it playing and sounding awesome. It needs a black pickguard as the pearloid does not suit it and has a hole left from the LED control, our EBMM distributor should be able to sort that easily enough though.
Any info appreciated folks, Thanks. Pete
