Hi guys,

First time posting in a forum so i hope I'm doing this right!!

A few years ago I had my beloved MusicMan Luke guitar stolen from a gig. I had worked a full summer to afford this thing (i was 15 when i bought it and worked in a guitar shop that enabled me to buy it at cost) and it was my pride and joy. I even managed to get it signed by Luke at the Toto show in 2003 in Manchester.

It was stolen from the Sale (M33) area of Manchester in around 2006. I went to the Police and their answer was 'what do you want us to do about it' and being young and naive I didn't really challenge them.

My dream would be to get the guitar back. Its been a ridiculously long time, I know, and its taken me far too long to engage my brain and think 'post it on a forum', but you never know! If anyone has the guitar I understand its now YOUR pride and joy. But if you ever think of selling it, or if anyone comes across it then it would be great to have it back. Or even to find out which low life took it.

The guitar is a Luke II in Luke Blue. Serial number G15629. It was a stock guitar, no mods and no piezo option.
If its still got the signature on it, its just behind the bridge.

Heres to hoping!!

Thanks,
Andy.

Hello Andy and welcome to the forum!

I am very sorry to hear that someone stole your Luke. Have you gotten yourself another one since then?

Hi Tollie,

Sadly not. I got a great trade deal on mine and now I'm out of the industry they aint as cheap for me to buy! Plus the one i had stolen had a beautifully figured birds eye neck, I've not seen one anywhere near as nice since, on ANY guitar.

Im seriously considering the LIII, i haven't yet played one but love the HH, split coil vibe.

Maybe time to start saving.......

Yes, it is time to start saving. Just throw a few pounds in a mason jar or an envelope whenever you can. As the pile of ebmm money grows, you become motivated to add more. Next thing you know, you'll have the money you need. Another option is to pay for one held for you on a layaway or installment plan. I have done this many times.

Regarding the Luke III...it is definitely the one you want to save up for. It's wonderful in every way, and the boost button is really just the perfect amount of boost for playing leads. The Transition pickups are very versatile and they sound really full and rich.

Sorry to hear about your guitar. Same thing happened to my first silhouette in 2001. I'm still looking for it. Hard to replace a one of a kind.

Luckily, Mr Ball has made some lovely guitars to tide me over in the meantime. :)

Welcome to the forum.

Oh man, what a shame. I hope you find it one day....the internet is good for things like this. Maybe get the serial around other forums and let EBMM know. Maybe inform Strings & Things UK?

I am so sorry to hear that you guitar got stolen. The UK Police are pretty useless so you story does not surprise me!

I hope that somehow you can get it back - maybe through this forum we might be able to track it my serial number.

In the mean time maybe you will have the means to get another? All the EBMM guitars are great!

I have Snagg chips in almost all my guitars - won't keep them from walking away, and won't help track them, but if a guitar is found it would prove it mine and assist in getting it back to me.

I have no financial interest in the company - but something that Big Poppa might want to consider making a standard feature in the product lines - wouldbe a great (inexpensive) market differentiator! :)

Very sorry to hear about that. I did trace a stolen guitar once - a MM. It came into my mates workshop and I recognised it. Do you have any photos you could post here?

Man that sucks. Sorry you lost that amazing guitar.
My £0.02...If my Luke II got stolen, i'd still get a new Luke II, in Luke Blue (it's the best colour!!). I have a LIII HH and it's great for sure, but theres something about the Luke II that works better for me.
