Well you named a few good places but whats wrong with your home town, The perfect Guitar\Bass is right there in Baton Rogue, carrys or can order the full line of MM stuff ask for Brandt, awesome to do business with.

if not them DuBaldo, Bass central and GC get my vote

there is a place called royal music, royalmusicny.com seems nice. i've been to one of the locations and they seem to take care of their instruments, and have a lot of nicer guitars for sale there.

Yeah, they used to have several in stock, but none in any finishes that I liked and now they don't have any in stock. Good people over there though, I've bought some cables, etc. from them in the past. It's about 2 miles from my house!
