Regarding who is responsible for designing the body of the EVH, Big Poppa sheds some light here (scroll down near the bottom):

http://www.ernieball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8301&page=5&pp=15

Big Poppa was responding to my question re. how much did Eddie contribute to the design of the body, i.e. whether he had a specific design in mind or perhaps just gave his approval to an EBMM originated design. BP's response suggests to me that if Dudley can't take 100% of the credit for designing the guitar body, then at least he had more to do with it than Eddie did.

If my understanding of BP's response is correct, then my guess is that Eddie's contributions outside of the neck and cosmetic considerations were limited to the design of the pickups, the specifying of only the "tone" knob, the non-floating Floyd Rose, and where to put the pickup selector switch.

I forgot about this thread maybe BP or even soon DG (?) could shed some more light on this? info/proto photos? Please.

Colin

Sorry to ask BP but when I visited the factory 1994 and you guys gave me a very warm welcome and tour, I saw a photo collection of EVH trying out the prototypes.
I would love to see them again (if you haven´t burned them since ;) )

Please show it to us or is there some legal stuff going on that you can´t???

I'd love to see those photos..have they been deleted?
Also, I was talking to a guy at Peavey (just around the time Eddie was "rumoured" to have been leaving) and he was VERY tight lipped about the whole relationship and future of the Wolfgang. The word "litigation" came up. ;)
IMHO Eddie's hopped around around from company to company for a variety of reasons. But, primarily-like many things in life, he followed the money.

Guys the evh was a collaboration between evh, dudley and myself. the pickups were finally selected by steve lukather. Ed couldn't make up his mind and luke picked.
the body is absolutely Dudleys design.

Its really old news now and if you look at the fact that we have only had =one signature artist leave us, and couple it with the fact that evh has been with chavel, jackson, kramer, ebmm, peavey, and back to charvel, its really tired.

EVH went with us becasue we were limited production, and left us becasue we were limited production....simple as that.

sorry we have had to bump you to second quarter 2049...keep the faith baby

Sorry Raz, I thought the novelty of your toilet seat might have made them produce it sooner. Consider offering an autographed seat with the first 100 purchases.
