Basically, for some reason, my bass will ring out, sustain, then create a very loud, obnoxious buzzing noise for certain notes. Some people even explain it as a "farting" noise, rather than a buzz. In particular, it only occurs when playing a "C" note...either the 8th fret on the E-string, or the 3rd fret on the A-string. I have installed a fresh battery, used new cables, new strings, and even tried using a different bass head, (although I have used the same Ampeg cabinet with each head), and I get the same results. Originally I thought I had a problem with my head, so I called Ampeg. They told me it was not their head, and it was just the way my bass resonated the note. I'm not sure if my cab has something to do with it. I was wondering if there could be something wrong with the circuitry inside my bass, or possibly just something with the intonation or set-up of my bass. Has anyone experienced problems like this before? Other Ampeg users have told me they've experienced similar problems with the same equipment. They said the only real way they've solved it was by using new strings more often. If you could give me any information as to the cause of this or how to remedy this situation, it would be much appreciated.

I think that may be it....the note exciting some thing loose/nonsecure in the cabinet.
