last week we had gig planed for a small town and instead of the regular marquee you have for such event we discover that they rented a truck for us :D.

thanks god our female singer was not wearing mini skirt :p but getting on the truck was kind of a challenge for all of us. We had to use that bench where you can see Chantal is standing on

Is there any particular/unsual place you remember playing?

As you can see we were using our regular EBMM Arsenal ;) (A Luke, An Axis Sport SSS, Axis Super Sport Piezo, AL MM90 and Bongo)

I had a gig in similar truck few years ago, the problem was that only the audience we had was the other band which played before us (that meant that they had bigger audience 'cause we had four members in our band and they only had three)... :)

I was suppose to be some kind a summer festival, but it was held in middle of nowhere (in Finland), around noon.

I remember playing in the middle of the SoCal desert back in '07

Aside from that and playing in jail, the strangest place I've played was at a private party in Rhode Island where there was a gigantic ice luge right next to me.

We had a gig at a Non-alcoholic, substance abuse free Biker Bar called New Beginnings. It was really weird. It was a bunch of Harley riding biker dudes that looked like they belonged in prison, but all of them were recovering alcoholics/addicts.

Needless to say, it was kind of a bummer to play a gig without booze. The other thing was, we tried to weed out specific songs from our setlist to make it more appropriate for the venue. Had to drop songs like, "Snortin' Whiskey", "Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers", "Whiskey in the Jar", and "Have a Drink on Me". We played alot more Styx,Journey, R.E.O. and Boston that night than we were used to.

That's not the half of it. After the second set, they had basically an AA group encounter. The leader of the gang took the mic, and told his story about how he used to own a business, had a wife, kids and everything else. Long story short, his addiction cost him his wife, his business, and one of his kids overdosed and died.

So, after 25 minutes of probably the saddest story I've ever heard in my life, we took the stage for our 3rd set. What the hell do you do? I looked at Emily, our singer, and said, "Maybe we shouldn't start this set with "Walkin' on Sunshine" like we planned."

Awkward.

come one Spud you know this gig doesn't exist without pic :p
No pictures sorry and because it's a family forum I can't tell the full story - it was kinda funny though.

The bit I can tell you is that we had just performed 2 normal 45 minute sets.
The club owner says "Are you boys packing up now to go home?"

We said "well yeah were all a bit tired".

How our attitudes changed when he said he was looking for some music for his exotic dancer

.. and there I must leave it! ;)

Several years back we had a 'talent show' at my company. Mostly it consisted of folks singing kareoke. A buddy of mine rehearsed an instrumental song I wrote - he played rhythm and I played lead (Drums & bass was pre-recorded). They held it in the lunch room and there was about 200 co-workers there. I don't think I have played in front of a larger crowd since.

We came in 2nd.
