First of all, let me say that I love my Sterling and my Silhouette. They are very enjoyable to play. I just sprung for a Moody strap for my Silhouette as all other straps seemed unworthy.
Love the instruments, but got a complaint about the strap locks. My problem is in their attachment to straps. The diameter of the threaded shaft far exceeds the holes in any straps that I've found. I either have to muscle the strap lock into the strap or enlarge the hole. I have found myself using an xacto knife which doesn't cut thick leather well. I've also clamped the strap between two pieces of wood and tried to use a drill bit to enlarge the hold. The drill bit process works better but it still isn't easy. I couldn't bring myself to drill my Moody strap. Eventually, I was able to muscle the lock on to the strap.
Does anyone else experience this kind of challenge?
