I'm really sorry. I know this has been discussed but I've searched and can't find the answer. What strap locks will fit my JP6? I have Scallers on my N4 (had them on there 13 years without fail). However, they required using the schaller strap buttons which meant taking the old ones out. This left a screw thread problem in the guitar. The schaller screw came out a few times almost resulting in my N4 being severly damaged. If you've seen that headstock you know what I'm talking about. So I ended up gluing them in.

So, I really don't want to go down that route with my jp6. Ive tried the schallers i have but theyre too small for the JP6 strap buttons. But then again, they are 13 years old so they might be a different size now. Any help would be useful cheers :)

I use Jim Dunlop. but really when changing any strap button (be it locking or not) you should really plug the hole first. Very easy job you can do yourself. Maybe EB will design their own straplock?

I wish. I certainley wouldn't have minded paying another 20 pounds or so on top of what i paid for my guitar is they supplied some strap locks.

I use the original EBMM strap pin screws with my Schaller strap locks...

If your screws keep coming loose, the holes are probably stripping out (resulting in play or movement, that lets the screws slowly work loose over time). When this happens to me, I just dab some carpenter's glue on a couple tooth picks and stuff 'em into the strap pin hole, then let it dry 24 hours and screw the strap pins in again... Problem solved...

I was always told that the reason strap buttons come loose (even on EBMM guitars) is that you are screwing into end grain, made worse by a relatively soft wood like basswood.

My advice is to plug and re-drill. Works for me when I have had to do it.
