Hey all

A very small idea but one that would be enough for me to change all my straplocks were it available....

I have straplocks on all my guitars and generally find them invaluable. The one thing that does slightly annoy me though is their willingness to swivel round, especially the bottom one when you take a guitar off and put it on a stand with a cable looped through the strap.

When I pick it up to put it on again, I often have to twist the strap back to get it flat again, sometimes unhooking it first when I can't figure out which way to twist it!

What I would like is a straplock that once attached to the guitar will only rotate through say 180 degrees, meaning that the strap will always stay flat and ready to put back on.

Would anyone else like this and if so how about it for the EB straplock MkII BP?

:D

I loved strap locks, but ever since I got my balls, I'm too chicken to put em on.
Keep thinking that they'll scratch the finish.
But I do love plain Ernie Ball black straps

The EB Super Locks are great. They don't scratch the finish of your guitar. They don't even come in contact with it.

I bought my first set of strap locs ever....some eb in chrome finish. The Al just looks like the strap would fall off... I've done a couple shows with this and I like them a lot. I would like limits like suggested. I unlock, untwist and lock again.

I've started using a small carabiner clip on my guitar strap to keep the cable out of the way. If the strap has an extra hole, I put the clip on that hole and run the cable through the clip. lets the cable move a little, and I don't have to run the cord between the guitar and the strap.

Also, the EB Super Locks are very easy to install, and won't damage the finish. Use the plastic washers and a regular screwdriver, and it will be just fine. Should only need a drill to deepen the screw hole. But none of my EBMM's have needed that. They're a straight drop-in replacement.

i use dimarzio cliplocks. the strap is made of seatbelt material, very comfy and flexible, and the clips dont move around to much. their attached to some nylon fabric and then attached to the body so it dont scratch

Yeh i'm worried about the plastic clips on em rubbing on the finish of the guitar....I just don't trust

well personally I like strap locks like they are...

I find their swivel-ness to my liking. Sorry.

No need to apologise. We all have different preferences.

I just wanted to find out if any other folk out there felt the same as me about them. :D

+1 I re-use the existing plastic washer with a felt washer on my balls  or use an aftermarket plastic/felt combo on other guitars.

I've used the dimarzio cliplocks for years and never had any probs with my guitars finish...I put the guitar in it's case with the clips on the sides...in the same position as if it was strapped on.BTW I always carry a spare set of clips and a spare strap just in case.I have had the strap clips break on me before.
