OK - I just received a set of EB gold Strap Locks for my 2006 LE Ray (also with gold hardware) and thought I would ask a quick question before installing please.

Is the button/screw identical to what came from EBMM - or different? They look the same, but thought I would check. I'm just wondering if I should take the old button and screw off and install new - or just use what's on there now? Thanks!

I believe they are different. I did not check however, cause, I took the old button off and put the one with the strap lock on.

I think I may have answered my own question. I took the original buttons off. The new ones appear to be different in that that have an inside "channel" for the tiny strap lock "post" ball bearings to fit into. The screws look the same. The Stap Locks did not include the little plastic washer that was between the bass/wood and old button - I think I will simply reuse those.

Hey Nash,
you are correct .. you will be replacing the existing buttons. Your eyes were opened to the channel, and for that .. we are grateful. I re-used my plastic washers as well .. just make sure you line up the contours ;)

Make sure you drill a hole in first before trying to force StrapLoc in. I didnt do that and my screw got stuck so I had to drill another hole right next to it :(

The EB straploc screws are the same diameter as the stock screws, so drilling is not necessary.
