Help! string cauge for drop D

hi, i am new here. i need some help to choose the right string cauge for my guitar. i play symphonic black metal and i need to have a powerfull sound when i play chords. i play with an ibanez rg 570 with the Regular Slinky Nickel Wound .010 - .046 Lime Green pack but i don't think the chords are powerfull enough with this set... i am thinking to put a heavier set but i don't know if it will be good for my neck... can somebody help me please?? :)
 
You might also try the Skinny Top Heavy Bottom slinkies. They still use 10's for the high strings, but go to a .052 for the low strings. Super-tight sounding, beefy bottom end, but screaming, easy to bend top end.

this set seems to be a good thing to me :) do you think the neck stands well with this set? i have also saw the Extra Light Electric Nickel Wound .010 - .050 w/ wound G set... what do you think about it? maybe i will try the the Skinny Top Heavy Bottom slinkies or the power slinkies...

The neck will be fine, however you may need to have the guitar set up properly for the new, thicker strings.
