I'm going to give my daughter's axis ss with vintage trem a neck cleaning that would be most easily done with all strings removed. Question: will the bridge fly off its posts with all string pressure removed? If yes, is there a best way to block it to prevent this from happening? I'm just a four stringer with no experience with such thigs. Thanks.

i am not for sure about the vintage bridges but if its like the floyd's here is what i do with my axis's and evh. i take a bic pen and take the pen part out and wrap it with some paper towel. then i just press the bar down all the way and put it in there length wise. thus the birdge stays wedged and i can take the neck off. make sure ot be careful though. i have knocked the pen out and that bridge went a flying lol. and those puppies arent easy to get back on and stay with no strings on it. good luck.

I would remove a couple of springs on the back after you take the low strings off, thats what I did when I chaged out the pickguard on my silo and the bridge stayed in place, you can damamge your guitars finish if the bridge comes flying off so be careful, leave one spring on while the strings are off -
