Is there anyway to prevent that crap that gets on your strings after you've had them awhile? I constantly have to scrape it off with my pick. And is there any product to keep your strings feeling new?

Well obviously I could get new strings, but these are almost a month old. And I do scrape it off every day or so but it keeps coming back. Any more ideas?

I don't know how you can prevent crud from getting on the strings unless you wear gloves when you play! A method I use to get my strings looking and sounding like new again though is about once every 2 weeks I take them off and put them in the dishwasher with a small amount of liquid detergent. It cleans them up and gets them nice and zingy...you may want to try that.
