Hi all. Just registered after buying my first Stingray. Is a 2EQ 1993 (I think) model in natural and plays like a dream however, is missing one damper. Are these readily available? anyone know if i can get em in the UK?

Many thanks
Andy

Unfortunately they don't produce them anymore. Which part of the damper exactly do you want? The sponge? I think you can make one yourself. The only alternative way is to find a real one in a vintage guitar shop but it is very unlikely that the owner will sell you a (much valued these days) damper from his SR.

Hiya, yes it's the foam bit. I will see if I can make one just thought it would save me a job if they were available.

I think it is a '93 based on the database I found here

Picked it up for £650 at the weekend

It is fantastic, what a sound. Knocks spots of the Gibson I have been playing for the last 20 years or so

Rods' home cooking classes.....

Measurements:

Length.....3/4"
Width......3/8"
Depth......5/16"

You'll need a razor-sharp trimming knife, a small steel straight edge rule, sharp long-bladed scissors, double-sided adhesive tape and a black computer mouse pad.

The side of the pad should already be straight. Measure up 3/8"
and trim a piece about 4 or 5 " long. Then cut your 4 mutes vertically from that.

Stick rectangular pieces of double-sided adheasive tape to the
bottom of the mutes. Make the adhesives slightly larger than the
mutes and trim them flush with scissors...long bladed allows the
trimming to be done in one neat cut. The adhesive tape doesn't
have to be black because your not really going to see it.

In relation to depth, the mouse pads are only about 4/16" (1/4") deep. The addition of the adhesive tape should bring them to approx 5/16".

Start with the G string and lightly position the mute just ahead,
and clear of, the intonation screw. Place the other 3 lightly in the same position all the way across. Use the steel rule to make sure they're in a straight line and make sure there is an even gap
between each mute before finally pressing them into place.

Clean the surface areas well before fitting.

Easy hey ;)

I got the whole assembly Mark....mutes, screws and the little plates too. It is expensive but it is worth it to me to get my 85 Ray back to original parts. One my mutes is gone and the screws have been replaced by standard hardware store screws

Besides, a Pitt brother hooked me up.:)
