Does anyone know a GOOD & CHEAP place to buy single EB String off the web?
For my 5 sting I'd like a set of 130, 100, 80, 60, 40.
I mostly use the standard 5 ED 130, 100, 80, 65, 45.
Either that or I'll try the light set of 125-40
But I'm thinking a 95 and a 75 E and A string might be too light.
We'll see.

Try these guys:

Just Strings

I've been ordering from them for several years. Reasonable prices. Always prompt, fast shipping. Very professional. And shipping stays the same whether you order one or a dozen sets of strings.

I use 30-90s on everything without any problems.

My 6 string has 30-90s with a 25 on top and a 110 on the bottom.

I, too, use either 30-90 or 35-95 without any trouble. I will say that heavy-handed players will probably not like that light of gauge--it's easy to play too hard and get a lot of fret buzz and sharp notes.

But if you have a light touch, no problem. I switched from 45-105 a couple of years ago and had no trouble adjusting. For me, the lighter gauges actually sound better (I get better low end without mud--I know that seems odd, but I do) and they feel very nice. It is a bit easier to pull them out of tune if you get too agressive with the left hand fingers, but a light touch all the way around pays off--at least for me.

What comes stock on a Sterling? Feels like a .100 E. I'd like to know what flavor, too. Thanks in advance!
