anyone try to put on .120 or .125 on ray 5's low b
will it still carry the low tone?

The B string is a 130 from the factory.

I have a .125 D'addario XL on my B right now. I don't have any complaints. I have used .130 and .135 before and wanted to check out the difference. It's really not a big difference to me.

Thanks. I love the 55-02, it is built very well and is an exceptional bass for the price. It has a more polite and laid back tone than the SR5, so I use it when I am in those situations. The B string is a monster and the flexibility of the MM pickup and the neck single coil is a nice change of pace (as is the case with the SC MM Bongo I'm sure). I definitely recomend the Skyline series. I think the Lakland 5 and the SR5 make a great pair, each of them having their own strengths and weaknesses.
