I know this will seem dumb to you more experienced guys but here goes. Should the strings on my Stingray be as low over the fretboard as those on my Bongo? They're not by a damn sight. As a result my Stingray is not as much fun to play and is harder work. If I put a nickel beside the E string on the 12th fret, the top of the string (super slinky) comes almost up to the dude's chin.

Thanks,

Mahlon

They both come from the factory with the height set at 3/32 at the 12th fret, from the top of the fret to the bottom of the string. If it's a 5 string, the B would be at 7/64

Yikes, I'm gettin' about 3 eighths with a crude ruler. Which screw lowers the string? (or am I getting in over my newbie head)

Check the FAQ section and see if your relief is ok...You may just need a truss rod tweak
