I purchased the #2628 string set for my Ibanez RG9. The strings are not long enough. Apparently the strings must be made for a ~26" 9-string (of which I have never seen).

Is there a suggestion for a 9-string set that will work with a standard 28" 9-string guitar?

A few other general questions:
Why would Ernie Ball make a "standard" set that won't fit any known production guitar?
Why is the string length (total and scale length) not listed (particularly when it is so different from standard)?

what i used to do with longer scale guitars is just buy bass strings. they are more expensive but they will fit the scale!
hope that helps

I am having trouble finding bass strings that have the proper length, too. There needs to be a taper that is after the nut but before the tuners. Even "short-scale" bass strings I have found so far are too long.

Still puzzling why Ernie Ball would go through the trouble of making a 9-string set that won't work on any widely available 9-string guitar.
