String tension on Axis, any advice?

I use 9 -42 gage strings on my axis guitar, but it they seems a little bit harder to me for bending, compared to other guitar brands that I play.
Is there any way to make my strings to be with lesser tension on them?
I am thinking on the removal of one tremolo spring looking to achieve this change.
Would this be the proper fix to achieve this?, Will this change affect the height of the guitar action?, if so, how can I adjusted again.

Thank you all for any advice related

By the way, I use DR strings if that information counts

I'd like to know what other guitars you're playing too. Remember that the Axis has a 25 1/2" scale length neck, so it will seem stiffer than shorter scale length guitars. SO, what other guitars are you used to playing?

1. Lower the action
2. Tune down one half step
3. Go to three trem springs
4. Definitely go with the EB strings
