String through the body

This goes back to a post I made about an ebay auction awhile back. So here is the question, other than pre-Ernie ball and the 30th anv., has there been any Stringray's with the string through the body made?

There were some made for the German distributor and possibly some for one of the Asian distributors.

i ownone of the german stingthrough stingrays. they are made in 2000.

were the asian one not made in japan an are called EX?
i heared they are made from us parts.
