You now have 132 views and zero replies ... what does that tell you about how players determine their EQ settings ?
The EQ channels are not discrete so knowing their nominal center hz is pointless anywho.

The following comments pertain to a 4+ year old SR, so if you have a Special with the (apparently) redesigned EQ scheme, some or all may not apply.
1. The bass control's f3 is VERY low. I will be kind and say no more about it.
2. The mid control's center point seems to be way up in the several-KHz range, affecting only the very highest mids.
3. The treble control's f3 is up in the stratosphere where oxygen is in short supply. If you want bacon-frying sizzle in your slap playing, This Control's For You.
My "point of sanity" is treble full CCW, mids up 20% from full CCW, and bass 20% up from full CCW as well. Make that your starting point, and make your adjustments from there. Better yet, use those settings and adjust your EQ via some external means, amp head or preamp or DAW or whatever. A true parametric EQ (not a two-knob-per-filter impostor) would be ideal because you can control not only the center points but also the "Q" of each filter. That's the key to unlocking the SR's potential.
Hopefully this will save you hours of frustration.

By this I mean the center frequency, not the control's center detent.

You’ve plainly misunderstood nhb’s excellent explanation. It’s just further evidence that you’ll be better off doing your EQ by ear rather than chasing after technical spec’s. I remind you again that the EQ bands are mutually interactive.
Nhb’s settings are quite different from mine. The contour of his amp is almost certainly quite different from mine. Then there’s the cab, the strings, the frets (or none), PU height, etc, but I’m gonna check out his settings, by ear, right this minute. (And you ?)

Well okaaaaay ... that was inneressing ! Easy to see where that works for the money zone. Any higher and it gets a kinda “snappy” tight attack. Keeping all three bands well into “cut” territory prevents them from overlapping very much. Very distinct.
