Do the strings have an expiry date?

I regularly buy electric guitar strings from ebay sellers, and I buy at least 10 packages every time. I know the strings are in plastic sealed bag but is it safe to store them for a year or longer?

I have with mine and they seem to do okay. I'm sure if the strings were exposed to extreme temperatures, even in the sealed packs, then that may effect their life length but for the most part you should be good.

I keep a few sets in my gig bag as backups, and have opened and used them when they were easily over a year old with no problem.

Hey BP, with the Ernie Ball strings, will they still do good if left in the sealed packages but if they were exposed to extreme elements such as left in a hot car in summer time? That is pretty cool if so.

Nuts, Smelly. You're supposed to bury your nuts.

I don't have a microwave. Really, it's true.

I haven't switched on my TV in 5 months either. I heat milk on a stove. And I listen to LW radio. And I have vacuum tubes in an amplifier. And I play a mandolin! Wow! I am my own grandpa!
