Whats the standard gauge string that come on a MM SUB5. Just wondering as im thinking of buying a heavier gauge strings to get rid of some fret buzz im having expecially on the B string. Also with such a thick gauge of strings will slapping sound as gd as on a standard guage of strings?

I've never understood the idea that slapping sounds better on thin strings. I think it comes from the fact that Mark King and Stanley Clarke use light gauges, .030" to .090" if I remember correctly. However, I've read interviews with Mark King where he says he uses light strings to aid with string bending.
No thats the thing ive got quite a light right hand stlye. The buzz comes from when a string is depressed againts the metal fret inlays it makes a buzzing sound like say open E to 10th fret as the string is depressed against the 10th fret inlay it buzz's unplugged or not. Does anyone get this at all.

If i play an open string its fine. But say when i play an open E string and then play the 10th fret on the E string is buzzes. Everytime i depress a string against a fret it buzzs.

Say i played that it would buzz everytime i went from the open string to a fret. As i depress the string against that certain fret it would buzz as the string meets the fret inlay. It wouldnt be a clean bass sound.

It's not going to be the strings. It's got to be the bow in the neck, the level of the frets, or technique. That's about it.
It sounds to me like a backbow in the neck or an uneven fretjob (perhaps one popped out of its seating on the transatlantic shipment from SLO). But, that's not something that changing strings is really going to fix/alleviate.

), has got a store setup on eBay. He sells TI Flats super cheap! I believe it's $58.00 for a five string set plus $4 flat for shipping anywhere in the US.
