I have a stingray 4 string bass, natural body. I took off the factory strap pins and then wanted to put on ernie ball strap locks. I put the bottom one on with no problem; but when I went to put the top strap lock screw on, it went in; but then it would hold tight and stripped right out of the wood.
Now I have a big hole and no screw will fit. I could go with a bigger screw but then I cant get it to fit the strap lock assembly, it would be to big.
Can you please tell me what I can do to get the strap lock on or alternatives?

It happens to the best of us, also to my new Bongo when I took out the original screw to fit the EBMM strap locks, I did exactly what silverburst siggested, although I used a wood kebab skewer cut just 2mm short of the entire screw lenght, I dipped the skewer in wood glue first then fill the screw hole, let it dry overnight and the next morning I've fitted the screw back in with a power driver and it was as tight as it should have been.
