So on this other board a forumer posts that there is a usa washburn for sale. And I said just poking fun, Their is only 1 problem with that guitar. ITS A WASHBURN! So this other guy comes on and says that washburns are great and whatnot. So I said to each their own, Ill stick with my Ernie Ball Music Man guitars and he says "Ernie Ball? And you are taking Wahburn to task? Holy hell. " I was pissed! So I just said "you are mad if you think washburn is better than EBMM." Then said whatever to each their own.

But in no way shape or form is washburn on any level with EBMM!

Idiots.

Once you have achieved the Holy Grail of EBMM, one must stay away from the 'other forums'. I find it a waste of time arguing with pimple faced 12 year olds who think they know everything because the lame magazines push crap guitars.
Someday that same person will growup (hopefully) and wish he had thought about your statement instead of wasting precious music time playing other brands.
I had a Washburn. It's the reason I stopped playing guitar 11 years ago.
Live and learn.
Every now and then I drift onto those sites to see what's happening, and I think HELL! I just wasted more valuable time in my life.

EBMM > once you are here, don't bother leaving. :)

well said man!

The sad thing is this guy knocking EBMM is in his 30s and is a washburn dealer! I feel very sorry for him. But sure he is trying to push his product. but why knock other guitar builders ESPECIALLY ones that are far far better! And that is a fact NOT an opinion! EB rules!

So, you made fun of his guitar and in return he made fun of yours? He probably got as pissed when you mocked his guitars as you did when he mocked yours.

What does being in his 30's have to do with anything?

Let go...it's not like they're insulting your wife or child. If you read your first post again, there's a line in it that would prompt me to say practice what you preach...opinion is a wonderful thing.

i think it's safe to say that many other company's forums aren't friendly places to go. i recently bought a sweet guitar of another name, and decided maybe i should join the forum, but i soon realized posting was like walking through a minefield. no matter what you say there, people will say crap like "n00b stfu pwned" much in the fashion that the bullies at their junior high schools probably talk to them by the lockers, and it really isn't worth the time. so, i come only here to ask for help or for discussions now

I hate to stereotype, but some of the worst forums I've had the displeasure of getting flamed on because of my shamless appreciation of EBMM guitars, were primarily associated with some Japanese guitar *coughibanezcough*.

I avoid most guitar forums now. It seems that regardless of make of guitar, if you don't subscribe to many's belief of what's best, you are flooded with negativity.

There's a lot of horrid band forums as well. One of my favorite bands in particular has one of the worst online communities.

Actually, as much as I love JP and his playing, his forum community often leaves a lot to be desired. Paul Warren works really hard to prevent this (and has done an amazing job with it, it's come a long way) but there's still a large element to it that just irks me.

I read it often, I just don't post much if at all.

Eh, everyone has their own opinion. I remember when I thought USA Washburn was the cat's ass. Had a nice one too.

No longer. Bigger and better things came along.

i catch A LOT of flak on forums for liking kirk hammett......
I like Kirk a lot, too... in thecontext of Metallica, he's perfect. He's also the only sane one in the band now that Jason's split, too...

As for liking X guitar or Y guitar, I'm too old to play that game. If someone argues that Ernie Ball Music Man guitars are not good instruments, I will post to defend their impeccable quality in design and materials, as well as their customer service track record - then I'll refer them here so they can enjoy a really great forum... But I don't get into the "my guitar is better than your guitar" stuff any more - it's way too much a question of taste and opinion, and it doesn't mean much to anyone but the individual player. I just keep reminding myself that Hendrix played '70s Strats for Christ's sake! Most of the '70s Strats I've played were barely fit to be firewood, but Jimi made 'em sing... and if layman had to pick the better guitar listening to Jimi play a '70s Strat vs. me on an Axis, what do you think he'd pick?

Maybe Jimi played a '70 strat, but he died that same year... ;)
Okay, okay... CBS Strats then... probably better than the uber-crap I've played from the mid-'70s, but I'd wager they didn't have the quality control of a modern EBMM regardless...
