Hi, I did a search on how to open the battery covers to little avail.

Can anyone help with ideas on how I can actually open the things? Fingers are beat up, and I tried with a screwdriver (marked the plastic)... any other ideas?

Bongo Battery cover

The battery covers have a small notation that says "open" towards the side of the cover that is closest to the headstock. Usually inserting a thumb nail and lightly pushing towards the tailpiece end of the bass while pulling up slightly is sufficient to open the cover.

It hasn't worked for me yet.

I haven't changed the batteries (only got the bass in December) so they ought to be the same ones EB put in it. The bass is starting to get quiet, I left the cable in for a few days and I suspect the batteries are getting weak. Either that or the HH pickups have done my ears in! :)

Anyway, does anyone have a suggestion for a tight battery cover removal process?

Carefully!!!

Hello again, I just ried this on my beloved blue Bongo.... take out the battery cover bezel screws (put them in a safe place), and you can nudge the battery covers open...just don't flex the plastic too much. Good luck.

I fell asleep with the B in my hands once (in front of the TV), but I wasn't plugged in!
