I just managed to do something idiotic with my StingRay. I was investigating a grounding problem (which I have decided is something to do with the house wiring and not the bass), when I started having problems reattaching the bridge bolts. Too late I remembered that I was using a metric set of allan keys and the 'Ray would be using imperial ones.

Grats me on having a loose bridge until I can get to the hardware store tomorrow. Just wanted to share, as I won't be playing any bass tonight! :)

No, and I pray I never do!

I do have an Epiphone guitar that maybe, could be possibly about to snap the neck off the body, unless the crack I'm seeing doesn't go very far into the neck. Oh well, it plays fine so I'll worry about it if/when it happens. :)

so this is really dumb. maybe not 100% related but its definately 100% dumb. hopefully this makes sense ...

when i started playing id break strings kinda regularly. usually the coil near the balls thinggy would "pop" and id grab both ends of the string and pull so the coil would unravel ... for some reason i thought that was cool.

Anyways ... one time i was unravelling the string by pulling, then started twisting in order to actually snap it in half and, i have no idea how, but the core snapped too as i pulled and it went in thru the web between my thumb and index finger, out the other end and then into my thumb again. it sucked. i was staring in shock, it hurt pretty damn bad but finally had to sack up and pull it out.

Ever been measuring the string spacing on a brand new $3,800 boutique bass with digital calipers and have a cat jump up on the table and spook the poop out of you and make you jump and scratch a gouge in the top??

I really hate that...

Ever cut a string then discover you had the wrong one on and now it's too short?

The frustration that comes from this such event is worse than road rage for me. I start throw'n crap and cursing myself. The sad part is that I've done it twice(you'd think I would of learned the first time) and with a set of strings that's almost impossible to find a single string replacement for. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
