Thanks guys, i'm really happy with it.

It just feels "right" at the moment. I'm working on matching up some Line 6 patches with the pickups just now; basically enjoying messing around with it for now.

I've said it before many times, but the Sub 1 is such a robust guitar, and incredibly functional. I've always loved the feel of the Sub, and these mods have really brought out the potential in mine.

I'm still using basic switching options for now beej, but we'll be mixing it up after a bit, and I have no doubt there are some untapped sounds in there. Might seek some advice nearer the time, fella?

If you want a more aggressive sound out of the D Sonic, try it placed with the screws towards the neck.

I went for the JP6 inspired install first, but with a mind to turn the D Sonic next string change. I am actually looking forward to the flip, especially given the lower tunings it's going to be subjected to!

when u put the tuners on did they just slot in are were there any mods

The Sub tuners have two small locating pins which you can't see when they are mounted:

These two pins hold the tuner in position. The Schaller M6 have the external (J Type) hole, with dedicated screws. For these I drilled a pilot hole prior to finally fixing in place. The new machine heads look like they were always meant to be there. Gotta love those pearl buttons :)

We still have horrendous rain and clouds here, so no nice new pics just yet. Outrageous!

We had sunshine today!!

I raced out and snapped some pics of the guitar.

Again, the depth of colour in the Abalone is really hard to photograph.

I've resigned myself to two facts; I suck at taking photos and I need a better camera.

Anyhow, here's some pics:

Great Pics !
(and nice brick wall ...)

He he he, it's a little sun trap in that corner, hopefully the next photos will be a little more scenic, and a little less industrial! It is a shocker now that I look back at them. :p

Your Sub1 mod is looking great! Absolutely stunning! Makes me wanna pick up a Sub1 now.

Do it do it do it. Seriously.

Great guitars right out the box, but clearly have sooo much (tasteful) modding potential too.
