LOL....I know all the cats at GC in Va. Beach.....these guys/gals are really good and don't try to force anything and just about all of them play in bands, etc. It is the only GC where they don't try to sell stupid things you don't need. I go there all the time so I am a regular there. I have helped sell many EBMM's......maybe that is what I need to do for a new career.....heheheheh.....sure beats my other job!

Same here Koogs, when I was buying my Pet, there was this young guy looking around yet he had his heart set on a MIJ Strat, I showed hime the SUB 1 and spoke with him briefly, I never laid it on thick I just gave hime the facts, American made, quality vs import. He said it was more than he could afford, but then, from the corner of my eye I saw him with it at the counter...

As for the set ups, like I said before, for me anyway two different stores, several different SUB 1's all set up nicely, while the Pet was way high as well as the Axis. Store owners telling you right from the box is crap. I was arguing with the supposed 30 year experienced set up dude over the EBMM JP specs...when I spoke of the 1/16" he almost passed out. The way I look at it is this, you have a wall full of guitars, temperature changes, dirty hands and what not...do you set up your guitars super low, having to monitor them constantly, or do you set them up high, like a safety zone, avoiding any buzzes whatsover. I think the worst thing would be for some young guy to walk into a store, pick up a guitar that buzzes, he'd probably think it was a piece of crap.

You can always, at a later date replace the pups...

oh and Jazzbo, I apologize although I still strongly disagree with your delivary...

I personally would never mod an EBMM. (not that there's anything wrong with that)
I think alot of development time goes into a guitar and I buy it for what it is.
If there was something I didn't like, then I'd buy something else. But that's just me.

I'm not much of a modder either, although I've been called worse :D

Jazzbo and Jim

Raz the set up is better on the premium line. We spend about 15 minutes on a sub and 45 on a regular series. The big difference is that we buff the frets on the regular ones and dont buff the sub. It is prety much a cosmetic deal though.

FOr a guitar to get out of the factory with fret file marks randomly and the other stuff jazzbo mentioned is possible but not probable. The customer is always right....but

Thanks BP,
It makes sense that the budget line has a different level of attention than say a premium.
However, as I stated earlier, the EBMM budget stuff is often what the other guys' premiums wish they could be :)
I'm sure the sub I saw was the exception (and definitely not the rule)
